Building an agave industry starts in the field.
A new agricultural industry needs more than a promising crop. It needs reliable plants, practical growing systems, evidence of performance and buyers who can use what farmers produce.
Agave Resources Australia was founded in 2022 to bring these elements together for agave.
Our work starts with the questions that matter on the ground. Where does the crop fit? How should it be established? What resources will it require? How will it be harvested, and where will the product go?

Where AgaveLink™
AgaveLink™ connects those questions with growers. Through plant supply, practical guidance and market development, we are building a framework to help landholders assess agave alongside their existing enterprises.
Where AgaveLab™
AgaveLab™ develops the evidence behind that work. Its focus spans propagation and plantation establishment, renewable fuel feedstocks and potential livestock feed applications. Research helps us understand what is promising, what remains uncertain and where the next trials should focus.
Connecting the farm with the market
These activities need to move together. Growers need a credible route to market, while processors need confidence in the quality and reliability of future supply. That is the industry-building task ahead of us: connecting the land, the crop, the production system and the customer.
We will use this space to share progress, field observations and the questions our research is addressing. If you are a grower, researcher or industry partner interested in contributing, we welcome a conversation through our contact page.
